Privacy Policy
Schuylkill Hub is built to respect the people who use it. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use cookies and analytics, what changes when we show advertising, and the choices you have.
Effective June 29, 2026.
The short version
- We don't sell your personal information for money, and we never have.
- We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. Our analytics provider does not store your IP address.
- We are adding advertising. When ads are active, advertising partners (such as Google) may set cookies — and you can opt out, including through your privacy choices.
- You can manage cookies, opt out of targeted advertising, and exercise your privacy rights at any time. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of advertising "sharing."
Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Schuylkill Hub website at schuylkillhub.com (the "Site"). In this policy, "Schuylkill Hub," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Site. Schuylkill Hub is operated from, and its information is processed in, the United States.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you contact us — by email or through our contact or event-submission forms — we receive what you choose to send, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message or submission. You decide what to share; please don't send sensitive personal information you'd prefer we not hold. When you submit an event, your contact details are used only to review the submission and are never published with it.
Information collected automatically
Like virtually every website, our hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) automatically records standard technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type and settings, the pages you request, and the date and time. This information is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems. IP addresses are handled transiently for these purposes and are not used by us to build a profile of you.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies for analytics and, when advertising is active, for advertising. We do not set cookies of our own to track you across other websites. For the full list and how to control them, see our Cookie Policy.
Information from analytics and advertising partners
Our analytics and advertising partners may collect information about your use of the Site through cookies and similar technologies, as described below and in our Cookie Policy.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is
used — which pages are popular, how visitors arrive, and where things
can be improved. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named
_ga and similar) to distinguish visitors. Google
Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses; it uses them only
momentarily to estimate general location and then discards them.
You can prevent Google Analytics from using your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by declining analytics cookies where a choice is offered, or by using the browser controls described in our Cookie Policy.
Advertising
We are introducing advertising on Schuylkill Hub to help fund the work. This may include ads served by Google and other advertising partners, as well as listings or features that a business pays for (which we label clearly — see our Terms of Use).
When advertising is active, our advertising partners may set and read cookies to deliver ads, measure their performance, and — depending on your choices — personalize them based on your activity over time and across sites ("interest-based" or "behavioral" advertising). Under some U.S. state privacy laws, allowing partners to use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising is treated as "sharing" or a "sale" of personal information, even though no money is exchanged for your data. You can opt out of this at any time — see Your privacy choices.
How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site and its content.
- To understand how the Site is used, in aggregate.
- To respond to your messages, corrections, and requests.
- To display advertising and measure its performance.
- To comply with the law and protect the Site, our visitors, and our rights.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers who help us run the Site — for example, our hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare), our analytics provider (Google), and email providers — and who may process information on our behalf.
- Advertising partners, through advertising cookies, when advertising is active and you have not opted out (see Your privacy choices).
- Legal and safety reasons — to comply with the law, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Schuylkill Hub, our visitors, or the public.
- Business transfers — if the Site or its assets are ever transferred to another owner, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Your privacy choices
You have meaningful control over your information:
- Cookie controls. You can decline non-essential cookies through your browser, and through the consent control on the Site — the "Manage cookie & ad choices" button above (it covers analytics today and advertising when ads launch). See our Cookie Policy.
- Opt out of targeted advertising / "Do Not Sell or Share." You can opt out of interest-based advertising and of any "sharing" or "sale" of personal information as those terms are used under U.S. state laws. The simplest way is to use the Global Privacy Control (below); you may also email us at [email protected].
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). We treat a GPC signal sent by your browser or extension as a valid request to opt out of advertising "sharing"/"sale."
- Industry opt-out tools. You can opt out of many advertising cookies through Google's Ad settings, the Network Advertising Initiative, and the Digital Advertising Alliance's YourAdChoices.
- Access, correction, and deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to interpret DNT, we do not respond to it. We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of advertising "sharing"/"sale," as described above.
Children's privacy
Schuylkill Hub is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here — for example, messages you send us are kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward. Analytics data is retained on a limited schedule set with our analytics provider. Server logs are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party links and content
The Site links to, and sometimes displays content from, other websites — businesses, event organizers, maps, and reference sources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices. When you follow a link or load embedded content, the destination's own privacy policy applies.
Visitors outside the United States
Schuylkill Hub is operated for Pottsville and Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, and is hosted in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site evolves — for example, when advertising goes live. When we make material changes, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
