Accessibility

Schuylkill Hub should be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We treat accessibility as part of doing the job well, and we want to hear from you if something gets in your way.

Effective June 29, 2026.

Our goal

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one-time milestone, and while we work toward that standard across the Site, we can't guarantee that every page fully meets it at all times.

What we do

  • Build pages with semantic, standards-based HTML and clear heading structure.
  • Aim for readable color contrast and text that scales when you zoom.
  • Support keyboard navigation and visible focus.
  • Provide descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Design pages to work across screen sizes and devices.

Known limitations

Some content is harder to make fully accessible. Interactive maps, media or documents hosted by third parties, and scanned historical materials (old newspapers, maps, and photographs) may not have complete text alternatives. Where that's the case, we try to provide the key information in accessible text nearby, and we're glad to help you reach anything you can't access.

Tell us about a barrier

If you run into an accessibility problem, or you need information from the Site in a different format, please email [email protected]. Let us know the page and what you encountered, and we'll work with you to fix it or get you the information another way.
