The Pine Grove Veterans Memorial is a stone monument on the borough’s main street, dedicated on May 30, 1984 by VFW Post 3432. It bears three plaques and bronze flag holders for each American war, including a Grand Army of the Republic star marking the Civil War.
The memorial stands on the site of Jacob Gunkel’s Tavern (1771–1965), which had been the first home of VFW Post 3432 — tying the monument to more than two centuries of the same corner of South Tulpehocken Street.
