The Orwigsburg Revolutionary War Memorial is inscribed “in memory of those who served during the Revolutionary War.” It was erected in 1954 by the local Fort Lebanon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, on North Washington Street south of Grove Street.
The memorial reflects Orwigsburg’s early history: the borough was once the seat of Schuylkill County, before the county seat moved to Pottsville.
