The Mahanoy City War Memorial in Veterans Memorial Park honors “the men and women of the Mahanoy Area who served in all wars.” Its most visible feature is a U.S. Army M-60-A3 Patton tank displayed on the memorial grounds at West Centre and Catawissa streets.
First dedicated on May 24, 1998, the memorial was rebuilt and rededicated as a “Veterans Memorial Wall” on November 9, 2025, in a Veterans Day-weekend ceremony — the 2025 stonework donated by FabCon and the project led by Susan Kessler. Because the memorial was substantially rebuilt on its site, it is recorded here as altered rather than unchanged.
