The Ashland Veterans Memorial, also called the All Wars Memorial, stands at the corner of Centre Street and North Hoffman Boulevard. It is inscribed “In grateful tribute to the sons and daughters of Ashland who served in all wars,” serving as the borough’s general tribute to veterans of every conflict.
From a wartime honor roll to a permanent memorial
A wooden Military Honor Roll stood at this corner from 1944, listing area service members through the Second World War, until years of weather wore it down. The VFW Auxiliary Post 7654 and American Legion Post 434 jointly funded a permanent stone memorial to take its place, which was dedicated in 1974. It is one of several Ashland commemorations clustered along Centre Street, a short distance from the 1938 Mothers’ Memorial.
