Method
- Mix the meats, egg, breadcrumbs, cheese, half the garlic, salt, and pepper; form small meatballs.
- Brown the meatballs in oil and set aside. Soften the onion and remaining garlic in the same pot.
- Add the tomatoes and basil, return the meatballs, and simmer very gently for 90 minutes. Serve with pasta or crusty bread.
